S’moresUp Summer Internship 2023: Empowering the Next Generation of Innovators

At S’moresUp, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. That’s why we launched the S’moresUp Summer Internship 2023—a unique program designed to give high school students real-world experience in technology, business, and family wellness.

This 10-week immersive experience was not just about working on a project; it was about learning critical skills, building confidence, and making an impact. Our interns gained hands-on exposure to product development, business strategy, and psychology-based family wellness solutions—all while strengthening their college applications and preparing for their future careers​

Why We Launched the S’moresUp Summer Internship

As a family-first platform, we understand that the skills kids need to succeed in life—organization, time management, responsibility—aren’t always taught in school. The same applies to high school students preparing for college and future careers.

The internship program was designed to:

• Provide real-world experience in technology, business development, and psychology.
• Help students develop critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership skills.
• Give students an opportunity to work alongside industry professionals in a meaningful way.
• Create a structured program that enhances college applications and future job prospects

The program was divided into three key tracks, each providing hands-on experience:1. Product DevelopmentInterns worked on enhancing S’moresUp’s family management app through:

• User Experience (UX) Design – Improving app interface and usability.
• Feature Development – Prototyping and coding new app features.
• Quality Assurance (QA) – Testing features and reporting bugs.
• Product Analytics – Using data to optimize user engagement​

2. Business DevelopmentFor students interested in marketing, strategy, and growth, this track included:

• Market Research & Analysis – Studying trends and identifying business opportunities.
• Partnership Development – Exploring collaborations with schools, parenting groups, and tech firms.
• Marketing & Promotions – Creating social media campaigns and digital content.
• User Success & Retention – Helping improve customer satisfaction and engagement​

3. Family Wellness & PsychologyInterns in this track worked on:

• Parenting Strategies & Mental Health – Researching and creating wellness content.
• Digital Well-being – Developing features to manage screen time and foster healthy tech habits.
• COVID-19’s Impact on Families – Analyzing behavioral trends and suggesting family-friendly solutions​

Each track was designed to give students real-world exposure, mentorship, and a meaningful learning experience.Program Highlights: What Interns Experienced
